Umsebenzijob (UJOB), in association with Accord Debt Solutions CC (Reg No. 2002/093441/23), is committed to protecting the personal information of job seekers and users in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and other applicable South African laws. This Privacy & Security Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your information.

1. Information Collection

We collect personal information from job seekers, including but not limited to full name, ID number, contact details, physical address, work experience, and references, as provided voluntarily through our registration process. This information is used to create listings on our social media platforms to connect job seekers with potential employers.

2. Purpose of Collection

The information is processed to:

• Facilitate job opportunities by sharing authenticated details with potential employers.
• Verify identity and residence for security purposes.
• Provide optional SAPS Clearance certification where applicable.
• Support community economic development initiatives.

3. Consent

By registering with UJOB, job seekers provide explicit consent for us to process and share their personal information as described. Consent can be withdrawn at any time in writing to UJOB at 222 Bon Vista Road, Banners Rest, Port Edward, KwaZulu-Natal.

4. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. This includes secure storage of data and restricting access to authorized personnel only.

5. Third-Party Sharing

Personal information may be shared with community-based intermediaries, local authorities for address verification, and potential employers via our platforms. We do not sell or rent your information to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Retention

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose of listing job seekers (e.g., two months for Silver/Gold listings unless extended) or as required by law. Upon withdrawal of consent or expiration of the listing period, data is securely deleted.

7. Your Rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

• Access your personal information held by us.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Object to processing or withdraw consent.
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator at inforeg@justice.gov.za.
